A national oil company in the Gulf region
Green investment committed
Scope 1&2 reduction by 2030
CCUS feasibility studies completed
Challenge
Develop a credible net-zero-by-2050 pathway while remaining a top-three crude producer and returning $20 billion to shareholders annually.
Approach
We built an integrated decarbonization model encompassing Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions across the full value chain. Our work included carbon capture and storage feasibility for 12 facilities, a hydrogen production strategy, and a renewable energy investment framework. We stress-tested the roadmap against multiple commodity price and regulatory scenarios.
Impact
The board approved a $40 billion green investment program. The company announced the region's largest CCUS project and committed to a 25% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030, satisfying key investor requirements.
